About Me

My name is Claire Wigglesworth, I am an acupuncturist, Chinese medical herbalist, artist and lover of nature.  The five element theory of Chinese medicine is what first ignited my passion and deep interest in the art and science of acupuncture and herbal medicine.  I came alive through this exploration of human’s innate oneness with the earth and cycles of nature.  My personal journey through both grief and witnessing the ways in which our Western medical system lacks a comprehensive understanding of the body-mind-spirit dynamic ultimately led me to pursue a career in Chinese medicine.

My passions include spiritual development and self awareness, trusting the body's wisdom as a guide and teacher, and the use of herbal medicine, acupuncture, diet and lifestyle shifts to bring about healing and alignment with our highest potential.  I am committed to creating a safe container for clients to explore their bodies and to come back into alignment with health and nature.

I graduated from Daoist Traditions College of Chinese Medical Arts in Asheville, NC with a Masters of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.  This rigorous program helped to deepen my relationship to classical Chinese medicine under guidance from many well known teachers including Jeffrey Yuen, 88th generation Daoist priest.  I continue to be inspired by this medicine and am grateful to be immersed in a lifetime path of learning.

Outside of the clinic, I can be found dancing, singing, reading and hiking.  I am often found exploring local plant life, crafting herbal medicines, and enjoying the landscapes of Appalachia.
